Nigerians be in for another round of fuel scarcity, which will affect its economy, if members of the Petroleum Tankers Drivers (PTD) carry out their threat to embark on strike tomorrow (Monday). The PTD, an arm of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) it has had enough of promises, and wants action on issues over its members’ welfare. NUPENG in a communiqué issued at the end of its Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in Lagos, said the strike action had to be called to draw government’s, as well as other stakeholders’ attention to a member of issues affecting its members, which action had been promised, but not fulfilled. NUPENG’s President, Igwe Achese, who made the announcement explained that the unresolved issues include bad roads, poor remuneration, insecurity and alleged excesses of some security agencies.
